Q:  CAN I HEAR SONGS YOU HAVE RECORDED?
A:  Yes! You can listen to some of the songs that we have recorded, produced, mixed and mastered HERE on our website, or click the "Music" link above on our site nav bar to visit our "Music" page.

Q:  DO YOU RECORD FULL BANDS?
A:   Yes and no. Although we do not record acoustic drum kits & full guitar amp stacks, we still record full bands.
We rely on working with drum MIDI (originally played by actual humans & edited by us!) and electric guitar amp sims (plugging guitars directly into the computer and using guitar amp software) to get those "Live" instruments recorded.
Acoustic guitars are traditionally mic'ed along with smaller instruments and, of course, vocals.

Q:  HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECORD?
A:  The process of recording a song is unique to the artist and release.
Each project is different and can take as little as a few days to as long as weeks or even months if it is a multi-song EP or album. Other factors like complexity of the production and how recording-ready the material is may affect the recording time.

Q:  WHAT IF I NEED EXTRA INSTRUMENTATION?
A:  Pumkinhead Studios is more than available to help add extra instruments & production to your tracks. Much of the instrumentation of the songs we have recorded was done by or performed by us. With 40 years of musicianship, we should be able to provide your music with what it needs. The fee for that is simply calculated into the total recording time. Those details could be discussed on an "as-we-go" basis.

Q:  DO I HAVE TO BE PRESENT FOR THE ENTIRE PROCESS?
A:  No, absolutely not. The technical aspect of things like editing tracks can be especially monotonous. We are happy to do much of that ourselves & keep you constantly in the loop of the progress of your song(s). We will set up a shared cloud drive for tracks to be uploaded to which can be reviewed by you during those phases.

Q:  WHAT WILL I RECEIVE AT THE END OF A RECORDING SESSION?
A:  You will receive a mastered .mp3, a 16-bit & a 24-bit .wav file along with an unmastered 24-bit .wav file. We can also provide an instrumental version of your song upon request.

Q:  HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
A:  For booking information & rates, please visit our Booking & Pricing page.

Q:  WHY CHOOSE US?
A:  Because we're easy.
